Proposal and Simulation of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator for the Coastal Zone of Benin

This paper presents the sizing of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) with power 690.747 kW for coastal area Benin. The proposed DFIG starts from density offshore wind potential Benin obtained at 80 m sea surface to determine generator. Thanks geometrical, electrical and magnetic parameters after sizing, simulation generator operation was done using finite element analysis (FEA). is by running nominal speed in supersynchronous mode. results this show that powers are close expected theoretical values. curves those flux densities air gap presented. Electromagnetic model then used develop thermal FEA allowed us know temperature values each region DFIG.
